2024 was last year, and the first deadline was December 31 until the Texas federal courts ordered a stay in early December. Any large business with a lot of US subsidiaries had been working on the registry for months at that point.

The registry was flawed because rather than reporting ownership based on clear criteria, it required disclosure of ultimate ownership based on fuzzy criteria. Combine that with many exemptions to disclosure, and it would have been horrendous to trace ownership using the registry. So, likely useless.
