How much money did the Russos get for the next 2 Avengers movies? Oh, yeah, $80 million. RDJ even more. But they have nothing for one of their great writers. All Peter David has is me and you. https://gofund.me/59445afa

And then it’s even bigger disparity when you go from actors to execs in comparison to the creators. It’s to keep the creatives struggling and creating for cheap.
If they were well compensated they might not give away so much for so little. Keep em grinding for that next paycheck.
I know a lot of people think I'm just saying this, but if I were an actor who was making millions and millions, I would share some of that big payday with writers, stunt people, special effects people, the grips, heck I'd probably hand over Benjamins to craft service people every day.
For sure. Personally, I have a saying: If I’m ever a millionaire, I won’t be a millionaire. I created my first comic book in 2024. My team were all paid their quoted rates and given profit shares if we ever get to profit. I intend on keeping the same format for every work I create. That’s my way
I would most likely give everything over 1 million away. Once I make a million I could live off of 5% interest on that nest egg and be happy. Heck I don't make $50,000 a year as it is!
I live in a low cost of living area and I don't have expensive needs.
Clearly there is a desperate need for a writers/artists union in comics. If you work for 10+ years regularly you should have some form of lifetime health care at the very least.
Of course, if the USA was a 1st world country you'd have a public health care system and this wouldn't be an issue.
While I agree that Marvel should do better by their creators, past and present, how do they determine who qualifies and what level of compensation do they get?
Pages drawn/inked/colored/lettered? Scripts written? Sales totals of issues worked on?
This is why I’m a proponent of health care for all and eliminating it being provided by employers because employers will never do right by employees and use health care as a tool to keep employee's wages down.
But we’re so far away from that point in the U.S. that fighting for better treatment of the people creating the source material is a more achievable goal.

It has to be equitable across all aspects.
