In Dec 2023 I did a run through all of the bus stop spacing in Waterloo Region using https://gtfs-segments.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
And I found that so many bus stops are too close together (many were 200-300m apart). Happy that changes are being implemented! More here: https://www.aceric.ca/posts/spacing

They have a program but I'd disagree about the assertiveness. And I still frequently experience <200m spacings that substantially slow service.

Part of my personal frustration is unlike say TransLink there isn't a loud public facing campaign to build support so conservative councillors often veto

Some of these stop cuts are actually really bad...Sure they're short distances, but they're often at paths into neighborhoods, and get more foot traffic than the major street routes that are replacing them. They also run on routes where a small numbers of trips are affected by their use
