If America paid all the money, they currently spend on healthcare, into universal healthcare it would have, proportionately, a budget more than 3x that of the UK's NHS.
Everyone would be treated free at point of delivery & no more worries about bankruptcy.
It's not hilarious but sad. We have the worst healthcare 😥 my sister died of cancer and other people in my family and that's all they worried about. When you're on death's door that's the last thing to worry about. Money. Sadly this is our America 😥
A lot of my snow bird friends that live near me part time from Canada say the same. Sometimes tho, they said there's a wait to have procedures. Florida has the worst healthcare 🙄 omg our elderly folks are at their mercy.
The tradition of a peaceful transfer of power is just a useful canard, a useful myth. It's not conspiratorial, there have been good guardrails and bad guardrails. It's structural and institutional. My opinion.
Agreed. Made me think of this quote:
“If there is going to be change, real change, it will have to work its way from the bottom up, from the people themselves. That’s how change happens.”
Enlightened self-interest. People can't distinguish between an ideology, a zeitgeist or attitude, and a legitimate philosophy. They are not synonymous in my mind. And actual conservatism is neither a philosophy or an ideology. But those people aren't conservatives. They want to change everything.

Canada has a far-from-perfect health care system but compared to there, I’m grateful.
