You are more likely to hear them first - they usually are quite high up in the trees - though they do come to gardens and feeders (mealworms I think in the feeder here) in the winter. I have rubbish photos of a female

Yes, I recognise their call, I find most birds now by sound rather than my very slow use of binoculars. My original post was more about RSPB not posting about them, it would be sad if they got forgotten 😞
