The first 2 weeks of December are for warming up to the holiday spirit, and the last two weeks are for holiday stress, which is why the very best part of Christmas is the 25 minutes on the morning of December 16th when you can just drink your coffee and look at your tree like “ah this is nice”

I’m relieved when the solstice arrives!
Both cats immediately began chewing through the (plastic) netting and the tree and bucket went back inside. 🤦 We haven't even decorated yet!
You left the bad unwanted baggage at the train station when you boarded your new train of life …remember!!!
Mine is sitting in a bucket of water in the corner of my living room. I've had time to buy it, but not enough time to put it up and decorate it.

Side note
It's always great food and we have lots, I just will never convince her of that in advance.
Meanwhile, my dog is giving the side eye like, “Told you so.”
Let the Christmas anarchy commence.

My secret?
I live in a Buddhist country and have no friends.
I’m going to the Canary Islands on 23rd till 28th to escape the stress this year
NOTHING is good on a Monday morning.
I am curious though. What are your particular stresses as a man?
It seems to me it's mostly women who do the heavy holiday lifting and men pitch in.
So how is the labor divided? Is it 50/50 or does one partner do most of the heavy lifting.
I'm really just curious how it works for other families in general.
Travel is SO stressful! My heart goes out to you!
I’m tired and broke and over it.
Ironically, my mother arrived in town the afternoon of the 16th, I took PTO and I plan on getting a massage that morning. Your post is spot on! 🤣
