As a retired person on social security i can tell you it would be very difficult. I have family, but many do not. Many where i live are worried about meals on wheels which they need to survive.

Is the idea to starve and harm our elderly so billionaires get a tax break ?

At 76 I can tell you that the elders are awake at night checking to see if their SS $ will hit their bank account before their rent/mortgage is due.
