I understand the knee-jerk reaction, but after reading the article, I do feel for her. Mainstream news outlets have failed ALL of us --- not a single person is immune. And people forget that the average American is not tuned into the news as much as some people on here and other social media sites.

People are having predictable reactions to this piece, which I get, but I actually do think we need to have a collective discussion about epistemic ethics, as it were. She didn't know. *Should* she have known? Who is responsible for her not knowing? Did she fail or was she failed, or both?
