This logic kinda makes sense? Remember that Barry in 97 rushed for 53 yards in his first two games and exactly 2000 in his last 14? Also, the 16-game season has been the standard longer than any other season length, so those records probably resonate more?

100% correct. OJ has the 14 game record, Eric has the 16. Barkley can only have the 17. It's an impressive record for sure, but it's just not the same thing, and that's ok.
