I can think of a dozen different legal organizations that would very quickly file suit (much better litigators than I). And I'd expect a few judges, perhaps more, would issue nationwide orders for the resumption of payments. 🧵

I worked full time while attending college and post college since 1990. I am afraid that they will lose the decades of monies I paid into SS and won’t reflect what I earned. That is my money and my privacy and in fact will be my health records Elon musk and his doge I’ll have accessed.
There are about 9M people relying on SSDI, about 7M relying on SSI (1M of those are kids)

I am worried about DOGE/Trump degrading Social Security to the point where wait times (already long now) see us die before getting a decision, see AI chatbots take over for field office workers / case workers, see our data used for ... I don't even know what sort of sick shit Elon wants with it. 🧵
You can imagine a scenario in which Elon's AI company gets a contract to administer Social Security, to have their AI agents make disability determination decisions, to have their chatbots answer the phones at Social Security, etc etc etc

this is exactly what will happen. Our representatives left the program to falter for 25+ years and here we are. I will call them every day and tell them we see it, and warn them not to allow this.
I really appreciate your posting about this because I’ve been having actual panic attacks about it for weeks. At least with this I have a better idea of what’s what and even though it isn’t all great it is calming to have better knowledge, so thank you.
