Experimenting with Colourfix Velour paper. I usually use pastels on sanded paper or Pastelmat. The velour is very smooth and doesn't hold many layers of pastel. It's also hard layering light over dark. PanPastels work well on it. Having said that, I'm happy with what's happening here so far!
