One of Indivisible’s missions is to get out the vote. Many of us donated for that reason, and millions of Democrats didn’t show up. I don’t think Schumer should be blamed for everything
That id whataboutism and is honestly irrelevant to the issue of Schumer, but rather other discussions that should be had about the Democratic party. He is not being blamed for "everything', he is being blamed for not knowing the state of the democracy. He is not moored in reality.
I have an issue with your attacks on Schumer. I get it, you didn’t like his view on the shut down. I didn’t like it either, but I hate it when Dems attack our own party. One of the jobs of Indivisible is VOTER TURNOUT. We had TERRIBLE turn out. Should we ask you to step down?
I hate that we have to have this intraparty fight and would vastly prefer a unified opposition - even one led by Schumer. But Schumer literally just said he doesn't think this is a crisis. If our leaders don't share our version of reality, what else can we do but push for a change?
It feels like bullying to me. He got us a shitload of judges which may save us. He is under reacting, but he wouldn’t be in this position had millions of Democrats bothered to go vote. I think there’s plenty of blame to go around.
We’ll see what he does from this point forward. I’m thankful for the hard work he did on judges who might save us in the long run. I’m willing to give him one more chance.
Great appearance! Your reply to Schumer’s statements was spot on. If the Democrats writ large were behind Schumer, the approval rating wouldn’t be so abysmal. It’s clear Schumer is nervous.
Excellent response n commentary. Chris excelled in his gracious yet critical engagement with Schumer. How to bring home the existential threat/work underway? 🙄
I think you’re right that we are legions out here and from every demographic screaming for New Democrat leadership. My question is how does such leadership emerge in times like these? Is there someone willing who you see embodying the needed qualities who we should be rallying behind right now?
I disagree with 1 thing you said-Musk/Trump WANTED a shutdown.
Schumer should have tried to block more cabinet nominees.
BUT he is correct that a shutdown would have given Republican Musk/Trump regime complete control of when gov’t returned-if ever.
Well a true leader in the Senate would have been communicating better BEFORE the vote. To both his peers in the dem senate, house and to us the people. I did not see Schumer do. He did much better on this interview but still missed the mark.
If the government shuts down, the FEDERAL COURTS SHUT DOWN AS WELL after 2 weeks. Then we can’t fight AT ALL
I think vought musk trump want a shutdown. They can keep it shut down as long as they need to dismantle everything only with a shutdown there’s no court to say HOLD UP! You can’t do that!
Chuck Schumer said to @chrislhayes.bsky.social on @allinwithchris.bsky.social that everyone will need to rise up to save our democracy. Incredibly, he, one of the leaders of the country, doesn’t think our democracy is in danger yet, so it was OK for him not to rise up against Trump & GOP on the CR
Schumer is over. Dems old ways are done. Most of all we need a new national campaign now, more than anti-Trump. A vision of innovation and positive change. A PAC to raise funds for media to inform the people. The people must lead until politicians run to catch up and surf the wave. No fear. Go big!
Hello Ezra, I watched your interview on MSNBC Chris Hayes. I liked what you had to say . . . informative. I'm all in on new leadership! However, I note that approx 3 others are on our leadership board; they supported Schumer in the CR vote. I'm still in the X lion's den -- I guess BlueSky begins
It’s weird that Schumer keeps insisting that the gop wanted a shutdown while Trump was personally calling gop congressmen to pressure them to vote against it.
I understand from this that Senator Schumer thinks we are not yet in a CC, and that he thinks a shutdown would allow worse violations from the Trump administration. Despite his vote, he also seemed clear that we are headed to a CC. Did anyone hear a plan for what then?
Did I miss something?
When POTUS violates a Supreme Court ruling, then it will be. Then, the people will have to rise up. He spoke of no action, no LEADERSHIP, that he would provide.
But we are in a CC now. Its not a time to be conservative about the risk. I wonder if because averting a dictatorship would be costly politically, he'd rather us just have one.
So Schumer doesn't think we are in a constitutional crisis yet because the judiciary is still holding the line. I want to have faith that will continue but this constant assault makes me feel like the damage is going to break any day. It is uplifting to see more people join more protests every day.
Well because Trump knows and deep down sort of likes Schumer. Schumer thinks we are dealing with 2017 Trump. Does Chuck forget what he was dealing with on J6?
Besides having the back of Dems, what about those GOP who declare as independents in order to usurp Elon/Trump folk who’ve abdicated their role—to counter Elon $ threat?
It really was quite stunning to hear him talk about our future uprising as though magically everyone will just understand and oppose the dictatorship that we are sliding into with majority of congress supporting it. Esp since the Democrats have been unhappy with our resistance to their apathy.
I disagreed with Schumer's "rationale" tonight. They blinked....trump/musk won! They didn't save the government from a shut down....THEY SPED UP IT'S TOTAL ANNIHILATION!!!

You were SO great, speaking the truth with grace and strength, making us proud! Also love how @chrislhayes.bsky.social clapped back at @schumer.senate.gov & his pathetic interview by putting you on and highlighting our work @indivisible.org right after. Epic! ✊💪 #resist #opposition
I'm listening! I agree that @chrislhayes.bsky.social is doing a great job. Otherwise, my ears are bleeding & I think I'm going to go scream into a pillow. So glad you are on tonight too!
I watched and listened. @ezralevin.bsky.social, you are correct. Senator Schumer is out of touch and doesn’t believe we are in a constitutional crisis!

Good leaders give others a voice.
Unilateral action can be good leadership, but it must be backed by accountability.
S. Schumer must be held accountable for leaving Americans voiceless.
