It's a bit of an unintended use actually.
Stopping people seeing like minded posts if they see the names of the lists MAGA etc and subscribe to them without curating.
A little traumatized--I am sure it's worse now
I looked a few weeks ago and almost 600 people were blocking me then! from BLOCK lists! weird.

I'm on some block list apparently.
I'm unable to be notified re starter packs or listings because they notify by DM's and mine are off.
Block is for trolls. I don't think a lot of people are helping Bluesky using it for disagree.
As to the courts they are the same now as they will be after Jan 20th. And his sentence wouldnt be changed once imposed.
I understand why he did it. I just wish he hadn't said he wouldn't.
But he took the political benefit of saying he wouldn't. He didn't HAVE to say it, after all, he chose to do so publicly during an election.
He's thereby also entitled to the political heat for going back on his promise.
It was an unforced error.
