In my mock trial class I managed to impeach the witness I was crossing. Which was great!

But maybe the reason I'm not a trial lawyer today is that the jury ultimately voted for the other side. And among the volunteer jurors we'd recruited for the class was my mom...

Love this. I did mock trial for over a decade (4 years in high school, 4 years in college, and 3 years in law school) and even though I don't practice anymore the skills it gave me in public speaking and in thinking on my feet have proven invaluable.

Could happen. I got the trial bug when I represented myself in a demonstration arrest (with back-up counsel), and cross-examined a government official about the permitting process they said we hadn't complied with. The judge complimented me. I was in college, hadn't decided on law yet.
