Digging the early Seiken Densetsu/Mana vibes already!

How tricky is it going to be to get "following" characters to space out a bit and overlap less with the lead character?
I'm picturing the kind of pathing behaviors/combat scripts I'd try and getting vicariously lost in the weeds already...

It is very tricky. We want the AI to stay close to the player without getting hurt during combat. That's the idea, at least. We don't really want the AI character to be invincible, either. We will have to experiment. Probably more dash attacking through projectile attacks from enemies for i-frames.
