“You are still welcome to the space,” LQR says, “if it would be of use. For your studies, or if you would like to keep pursuing art in your own time. I know you will probably be busy with other coursework in your last semester.” He finds he has grown used to having someone around again.

“Popo makes the *best* tangyuan,” WWX informs him when he excitedly delivers the invitation in mid-December. “And she does like five different fillings.”
“You don’t ski?” LQR asks, curiosity getting the better of him.
WWX shrugs. “That’s more Jiang Cheng’s thing,” is all he says.
I do think that LQR could actually say some of the welcoming things he's *thinking*, but, well. LWJ has to have gotten his inability to say his emotional stuff out loud from *somewhere*, right?
So, this is one of my longest-standing Pet Peeves.
(Peeve too long, will put in follow up post.)
A shouldn't have to learn interpretive dance to get the validation they need.
I HATE IT. Person A shouldn't have to not get something as important as this just because B doesn't like to talk. It's profoundly unfair. And it implies that B *doesn't* love A (to me).
Person A 'has to' understand the mysterious magical refusal of B to do the *one thing* A has actually asked for.
