I think my mythology phase when I was young taught me this one. It's sort of cool that some pagan worship survived through to naming days of the week.

Sunday, Monday and Saturday still exist from the classical "planets" named after gods. Though two also work with the Old Germanic (Norse).
Sunday (Helios, Sunnal/Sól, Sun)
Monday (Luna/Selene, Máni, Moon goddess)
Saturday (Saturnus/Cronos, Saturn)

Some Months as well. January is named for Janus, Roman diety of doorways and transitions. March is Mars, God of war, June is Juno goddess of marriage and childbirth and May night be Maia goddess of growth.
