Book 8: Graveyard Shift by M. L. Rio. 4.5/5 Just a fun short mystery. If I had a nickel for every book I've read in the last year that had mushrooms causing odds side effects, I'd have 3 nickles. Could've been longer and more developed but I liked it for what it was.

Book 7: Chain Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. 4.25/5 I liked the middle the best as it gives a look into the mentality of the "Links" and interjects with statistics of the prison-industrial complex. Over-all, a great look at the evils of the PIC and the challenges in fighting against it.

This cart guy at meijer told my wife, who was putting my 2 y/o in his car seat, to take her time because we were blocking the corral. I lost it. Book 6 of the Year: Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson. I actually read the sequel first for a book club with my wife last year and decided to go back because I enjoyed it so much. 4.5/5 Kinda figured the twist out early, but that's not a condemnation.
