By the end of my time at a multi-national BPO doing CSR work for exbawks, I was just dead inside. Every single performance review I had for the last four months there was "You're too transactional" to which I'd just dead-eyed reply, "I'm a machine to these people in the first place, so who cares?"
Just constant cognitive dissonance as both the BPO's corporate and the client(s) for said BPO have very delineated, sometimes conflicting SOPs for how things are supposed to work; the managers constantly *agonizing* over how to maintain employee retention while ignoring every single suggestion lmao
