I have no expertise in government, but the piece of advice I give most to parents is “meh” - when you’ve got a toddler or a teen who’s trying to stir things up, the best thing you can do is be indifferent. Make sure they’re not hurting anyone and then just shrug. I think the USA did that today.

i'm surprised by how low energy and farcical that whole military parade situation was. I was expecting Moscow 1945 and we got Spirit Halloween instead.

And...from the photos it looked like the folks who were there for the gathering were simply tourists visiting the nation's Capitol or the Smithsonian. There wasn't a sea of read hats, etc. Low energy. The legit energy was elsewhere with the people carrying personal size flags and signs.

I guess I thought of my son: him standing up to the daily school bus driver, who is running a dictatorship on the bus. I could tell him to keep his head down. But who will protest gor what's right in the future?
