I believe every life has equal value, and also I am a lot more outraged by the death of people who were denied care in order to put more money in Brian Thompson's pockets than I am by Brian Thompson's death.

I feel so, so sorry for his wife and children. What they are feeling right now must be horrific. I hope that the 43 million dollars they're sitting on, that was amassed for them by causing other people to go bankrupt, sicken, and die brings them some comfort.

I hope that whatever life insurance company he had delays paying his claim for a couple years, and eventually denies it. I hope that navigating the insane bureaucracy of trying to get access to money that is rightfully theirs distracts his family from their grief.

If I woke up tomorrow magically transformed into being unfathomably wealthy I would be so terrified and begin working as hard and fast as possible to no longer be unfathomably wealthy, hopefully improving some peoples' lives in the process.

One of my fantasies is to win the lottery and give away the vast majority of it. I can’t fathom having the ability to change so many lives and end something like homelessness or hunger and choose to buy six houses, twelve yachts, and a presidency instead.

I think a lot of my wife's summary of Yom Kippur: if you have sinned against G-d, you take that up with G-d. If you sin against people, you have to take it up with them.
