Other countries are sorting out their own defense arrangements and alliances because America has abandoned its position as leader of the free world. They would have very little chance of getting Greenland to join the US but now they have none because they’ve been tools about it.

They’re deporting people with a legal right to be here and people are starting to get concerned. They’re inciting law firms to actively attack them. They’re losing elections by larger margins because of Elon’s presence. Their allies are getting *less conservative* and electing *more liberals*.

It’s oddly cathartic. I started with the ones that did noisy “we’re cancelling DEI” announcements early on. But now when I feel powerless about something horrendous the administration has done I think “ooh, I could probably drop that one too” and it helps a tiny bit.

Oh definitely not advice for you, or anyone else for that matter. We all have to work out what little things to consider but you’re in a very different boat.

I’ve got family out in Michigan and their political engagement has grown hugely. But I can’t campaign or donate or anything.
