If I were at that point in my life I would be afraid especially living in the deep red state of LA. Sending you thoughts of comfort. I have a 25 year old son that I am encouraging to leave LA and move to a safe blue state as he is gay and it is scary here. Why are we going backwards. Sad times

Outside risks seem really hefty right now but there will always be outside forces that will play with your mind (war, pandemics, political unrest, etc). Looking more internally and at personal options was helpful when deciding to have children for us.

Mandy, I do not envy you in this decision. One of my daughters has decided her son will be an only child. They live in TN where the reproductive health care is worse than in SC. She would have to travel to Illinois if she needed life-saving care. I hope you have a good doctor to advise you. 💙

a lady I work with told me her 23 year old daughter is getting her tubes tied bc she is scared of being pregnant and having an issue and not being able to get the care she would need to save her life. she’s 23! that’s how scared people are. insane that is where we are that this is what’s happening

Mandy we need the voices of women like you to make the men creating these laws understand. They haven't listened to the rest of us. They have been brainwashed into thinking reproductive health care is murder. I'm alive today because of life saving care I received in the late 1980s.

This is just so sad to me. Becoming a Mom is the best thing to happen in my life & now others who want to be parents need contemplate their choices based on the government’s involvement in their personal decisions. And that same government wants to force others into parenthood who don’t want it.

I had a stillborn-had to have a full L&D and a 14 week miscarriage that I had to have a D&C for and I can’t imagine trying to figure options with my sad situations now with this climate.I’m SO sorry this is the new world women are facing. Of course❤️. Honestly, before our losses I never knew sadly how common this has become for so many women. I was/am an older mom, but the wonderful/hopeful news is I have two healthy beautiful children now that are 6 and 9. I also learned, women are braver than I ever realized.

I never knew until I hit my 30s and my friends started having kids.... its sooo much scarier than I ever imagined.

My whole life I’ve wanted 3 kids. Now I’m in serious internal debate about if it’s worth risking my life and the health of the family I already have to fulfill that. It’s a terrible reality.

You know better than most that even the most loving parents can't guarantee the safety of their child. I think you really have to look inward and not outward to make this decision. You may find that having a child now helps you to face the troubles that are coming.

That is really hard. The world for us seems less safe than ever, but it is never going to be perfectly safe. You need to think how safe your home will be for the next 18 years. After that, your children will work to better the world and they will take on the responsibility for their own safety.

I’m married with two adult daughters and I assure you you’re not alone in your fears. While you don’t need my validation, I think they’re justified. Way too many people are trying to force their way into your exam room.
