But a goal I impressed on the team, based on that panel, was that it was flexible enough to make “ugly” pages because if that was what appealed to a user then that’s what they should be able to make.
You can hate these people all you like but their money does not rely on your approval or not. They own far far too big a slice of our connectivity and lives to make any dent in their fortunes.
As of now it appears that freedom lost. The maddening thing is that freedom wasn’t so much lost as it was sold so that Mark could aggregate an obscene fortune. One he can never spend and one that will never fill the void in his soul.
Sadly he never got his framed Harvard Diploma. Each framed diploma has a handwritten message : you are still a piece of shit. At least the frame shop I work does that. I was told it’s industry standard.
I went to watch Zuck but I also convinced someone to start the heckling that derailed the whole talk, led to a crowd backlash against the abysmal interviewer, and forced FB PR to hold a second Q&A the next day b/c people were so mad he couldn’t answer Q&A b/c of said interviewer. Good times.
Honestly such an amazing move by him to yell that and even nicer for him to not take the $20 I promised to pay him if he did it. Tho I’d have happily paid it!

A professional point of pride: me writing “this sucks and we’re sorry” on an official corp blog:

*runs away sobbing*
This is incredibly galling
And only 17 years, pretty decent time too
I hope the theme song to WWIII is an 80’s hair band style power ballad 🤞🏻
