I will continue to fight against this stance. While I respect your views, I only liked this game for the PvP system.
Then again... I was a literal terror in PvP.
Everything else was... Meh.
But I was a Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3 enjoyer.
And I have no regrets.
It was my first Dark Souls game so I have a soft spot for it. I think it’s a great game even tho I fully acknowledge its glaring flaws. It has a undeniable charm to it that you can’t help but marvel at
I put a lot of time into this game, making up different builds and characters with different backgrounds. I didn't play the SOTFS version, but this game was pretty good.
True gamers know DS2 is peak. Especially when you have to beat three bosses in a matchbox room with only hopes and prayers cause your weapon broke midfight 💀
Ds2 certainly has a lot of uniqueness in the series and I think it deserved more respect than it got, but the fact is that to those who were accustomed to ds1 or demon souls, it just felt weird and janky
This is my personal favorite. It was the first Souls game I beat and its atmosphere matched what I was going through at the time. So I soaked up every minute of it and the lore is amazing.
Sadly people focus on the bad far more than the good.
In this case it was the lag stabs from NPC enemies.
Very annoying issue, for others it was repetitive knights, don’t care about that one, sunk a lot of hours into this game and had a lot of fun, especially pvp duels. 😁
great game in the grand scope of gaming indeed but compared to froms other souls like its still my least favorite, many great ideas but the basics dont work well for me:
-world design incoherent
-level design with few wow moments
-enemy placement unfun
-most bosses are kinda lame with like 3 moves
-too much exp so no choice/consquence in builds
-NPC quests and the story didnt hook me
-I prefer 1/3/ER weapon movesets
-iframe changes on chests etc
-artstyle not for me

It’s a fantastic game. Haters can walk on legos
THERE I SAID IT
I struggled so much there, that the zone was barren by the time I was done. The silence, a testament to my will.
God tier.
Had a blast with DS2, shit was fun
