Not only has CMS, the agency which administers Medicare, been hit by a round of mass-firings. The people who run it haven't been told who was fired. They're having to figure that out by themselves. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/how-its-going

I ask yet again, does OPM have legal authority to fire federal employees with their employing agency's involvement? Can OPM just say that an SES running a major function at DOD just goes poof even if the SECDEF wants them? I think no
Go to @skyeperryman.bsky.social As head of Democracy Forward, she has many lawyers to assist government employees. 202-448-9090 [email protected] Please repost as often as possible. Get the word out. You have been illegally fired. You can sue. Bring your case to Democracy Forward ASAP.
When rural hospitals stop getting their payments they will start to go out of business in a matter of weeks.
I hope red state rural folks are brushing up on their voodoo rituals, because that is the extent of the health care that will be available to them.
Pretty clear the plan is to layoff the people who make everything work. Then claim the system doesn’t work. Then take over the system and fuck us over.
Trump/Musk plan for destroying government & stealing everything: 1 Sabotage services by firing employees 2 sabotage revenues & blow up deficit by cutting taxes for rich/businesses 3 use 1&2 to justify privatizing all govt functions 4 Use 3 for biggest bribery/kickback/profiteering ripoff in history
No worries. Dr's Oz and his assistant, RFK, can whip you up some patented Ivermectin- Red Gringoberry supplements to cure whatever ails ya'. Let's go back to when we were great in 1870 so, don't forget, there ain't nothing that a pious lecture and a good, hot spermacetti-roadkill soup can't fix.
If you leave CMS shorthanded you will see a delay in processing payments to providers. Ultimately, if that delay is too long, you will start to see providers refuse to take Medicare, which would be a complete disaster for seniors.
My agency leaders made a list but aren’t sure if they’re allowed to send it around, so we are having to guess who we should expect to show up at meetings, who can we task with doing all this new bullshit work of pretending women need protecting and diversity is bad. Serious Kafka vibe.

Health insurance is critical to the well-off. Medicare problems will affect more people even than Social Security.
All those Trump voters and non-voters are about to start learning why it matters who is President.

Will they try to get it fixed for their states while screwing everyone else?
That's their goal(s).
