This is an international slave trade and anyone that unintentionally (or intentionally) sane washes it as part of normal deportation proceedings is complicit.
They aren’t judges. They are employees of the executive branch - specifically the DOJ - so their only concern is “am I accurately proxying for Pam Bondi?”
I frankly feel the use of the AEA to deport suspected illegal immigrants is a crime. It was a crime in WWII when Hitler deported Jews to concentration camps. How is this different now. This regime is using the AEA to deport suspected illegal immigrants to what is essentially a concentration camp
During the 2nd coming of the MAGA Messiah, the US federal government has become a lawless operation. They will continue to become even more lawless until they are stopped.
My question: how far has America fallen when we pay Central American dictators to "house" detainees in concentration camps where detainees are tortured? The people we're shipping to "the world's coolest dictator's" prison were removed despite the Constitution's requirement for due process.
Oxymoron, "wcd", he said he is keeping them because sitting p. is paying him to. Need to stop where money is coming from or "claw back" there favorite term.
This is the most immoral inhumane part of it. The U.S. has sentenced people to a potential life in a chard core prison for illegally crossing our border. Does U.S. law provide for such a severe punishment for a civil crime?
Some of them did it the legal way, NOT illegally. They applied to come claiming they were being targeted in their country. One guy they disappeared waited in Mexico for two years to be accepted and he was only to have this happen.
As an outsider, I find it shocking that, as far as I can tell, the contract between the US government and El Salvador has not yet been challenged in the courts.
There's so much shocking, and no, I haven't even seen any speculation on the subject. I'm guessing it's something to do with the unlimited powers his Supreme Court handed to him? They'd probably claim it's international relations or some BS. I'm disgusted by all their fraud, cruelty, cheating & evil
My sense is that the ACLU and other litigants are well aware of these issues and have chosen a multi-pronged strategy that seeks to bind the administration by forcing it to make admissions in some cases that then can be used to collaterally attack their positions in other cases.
in other words, they'll force the administration to put it on the record that they have no custodial power over immigrants in El Salvador, then use that admission to attack the cases where the administration has suggested that, because of this arrangement, it's ok for migrants to be held there.
The fact that we are now paying to create concentration camps outside of the jurisdiction of US courts, for people who have seen no due process gets WAY too little coverage in the press. Far too many Americans have no idea what our President is doing here, nor that our Congress is not stopping it.
Only for a year. Then what? T-RA is not a smart man. Bullies are cowards. They have no redeeming qualities. That's why they use fear to push people around coz the truth would expose them.
Tell you what, Bukele needs to tread very lightly when dealing with Dems, the US sends tens of millions in aid to El Salvador, if he wants to FA, he’ll FO when Dems control the House in 2026.

You are so right. However, tactically, if you find one or two people, you can make a really big deal out of you can get more empathy, and you can set the groundwork to bring them all back.
No coverage on the "human trafficking" element/agreement Frumpoo, El Salvador, and Venezuela have with one another. Or the fact that Bukele wants MS-13 back as a paramilitary force to help "enforce"the law (terrorize) in El Salvador
“the U.S. Constitution requires due process for undocumented immigrants, as the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments protect all persons, regardless of their immigration status, from arbitrary deprivation of life, liberty, or property without due process of law”
Congress definitely didn't, other than by abdicating responsibility. How is spending up so much with so much cut? Where exactly are they sending our money other than concentration camps?
Part of the problem is the media keeps saying these folks were deported, which sounds normal(ish) and doesn’t usually call for a lot of scrutiny, when in fact they were imprisoned without a conviction or sentencing, which absolutely does.
El Salvador is trying to negotiate with Venezuela using these people for, essentially, a hostage trade. Maduro is pissed at how they have been treated.
That next phase is being overlooked as well.

@maddow.msnbc.com any chance of getting some coverage on this within your ongoing updates? This definitely isn't "winning" when another dictator is potentially going to rescue people from what Trump has done.
Trump has never tried to follow the law.
Instead, he makes it difficult to prove he broke the law.
Ironically, using all the rights he denies to others.
IOW the US Government has begun outsourcing parts of our prison system because El Salvador can do it more cheaply, under less regulation, and with fewer legal rights (just like with other business operations).

"I ordered this guy deported to Venezuela, and here he is, not in Venezuela". Seems like something some judge should have said by this point
We did X because of Y. No, sorry, that may have been on paper, but it was really Z. No, not Z, Z was the original deal, but we've rotated to W now.
Just like Musk is and is not in charge of DOGE simultaneously.

Anybody know why?
This may be naive but don't international contracts have to pass scrutiny of both countries?
Due diligence somethin somethin

Choices have consequences.
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.

can they be bartered

Where are females going?
Got it.
This is why we can't let anyone call it a deportation. "Deportation" isn't life imprisonment.
On top of everything else wrong with it, this situation is cruel and unusual punishment, an 8th amendment prohibition.
It's a holocaust, it's a mass incarceration, it's a concentration camp.
Name it anything but deportation
Deportation I throw you off the plane at the country you came from and say "You their problem now BYE!" then I take off.
You patriots are the smartest!😆🤣😂
