it's layoffs. it's just layoffs. it's always layoffs. and when they don't shave the expected number of people, they do layoffs a month later. watch this space!
when I worked there, my team was spread across Vancouver, Montreal, LA and Seattle... how would it have helped anyone if we were calling each other from a noisy open plan office we spent an hour commuting to instead of from home?
It certainly helps the big boss executive who gets to walk around doing jack shit and think βlook at my minions who make me a dollar while I pay them a dimeβ
You should try emailing accommodations to ask for it back in vain, they still get to work from home, because working from home is a status symbol that us peons don't get to have because π€·ββοΈ
I feel this pain. My entire team is remote, and we primarily interact with other teams and partners that are also remote. But Iβm in the office twice a week because our former COO had an office fetish.
Right? My team is scattered all over the country. My supervisor is going to be in a different time zone starting in June. Being in the office does nothing to help anyone or improve anything. It just wastes 2 hours of my day and costs everyone $$$.
Yeah, that's just surreal and really feel we are walking backwards.
In my last job my teams and clients were spread out around the country AND the world. India, Europe, Latam, USA... when I went back to office on an open plan floor... argh... ¬¬#
