I think it was NOW that put together Women's March (pink hats) I attended in Austin 2017.
This seems to lack a center.
If folks truly understood the danger that is posed they would call in sick and support this protest. It also would send a message that maybe a general strike is not out of the question. You’ll regret not actively protesting when the red hats start asking for your papers. #callinsick
Just an observation as I'm trying to do better myself. The left struggles more than the right when it comes to organizing. We need to up our game, whatever our activism looks like. Things like scripts w/clearly posted numbers for calling representatives. Organized marches with a center, etc.
Same feedback here. If I could take the time off mid day, mid week then...where would I go exactly? I know how to get to my capitol building but...whom would I be meeting? How would I know? I've marched and protested in multiple countries under professional organizers. We need them for this!
Understandable, but better to organize and grow than step out ineffectively. I have no idea who/if anyone locally is protesting and how to connect with them. This isn't my first rodeo and I need more to go on.
This is how it starts. Are they wasting time ushering in their changes? No. So start protesting, make yourselves heard. Even if its not well organised, at least you are calling it out. Btw im in Australia watching on in horror…
Please don't get me wrong, I'm making myself heard in many ways by calling things out and people in. I'm just stating what I and others like me need to get involved in a protest. Are you a US citizen? Do you have organizing experience? I am in the US watching in real time. Also in horror.
No I’m not a US citizen, I’m saying it as a way to disrupt their plans. Why? Because they don’t care about you. Im just scared for you guys that these rights will be revoked from you. Here is a chance
Not US so can’t get involved, but yes I do stuff locally. All I can do in this situation get online and try connect people to resources, so if you want me to get in the subreddit/help find something I am standing by 🫡
