Starting to hear about mass firings of "probationary" employees at agencies.
What's that? Employees have to work for 1yr before civil service protections kick in. If they don't perform, they can be fired.
But these aren't at-will employees and it's not clear firings are following the law.

My fellow federal employees… every night when you’re done for the day set up an automated email reply. It doesn’t have to be nasty…
“I’m currently out of the office and will return (tomorrow).”
The thousands of replies Musk will have to wade through each day should be fun to imagine!
Employees can challenge the firing of the agency fails to follow that procedure.
