Not to worry! The rule of thumb on this side is to hunker down with some gallons of potable water and canned goods when things look iffy. Clear the outside areas of furniture and tools; basement is better than shed, if poss. Make sure you have extra clothes and quilts if the power goes. Be safe!

I'm not surprised. Seeing the damage to a caravan park near Newquay was quite shocking. We're up high on the edge of Bodmin Moor, so we get a lot of very high winds but I hope you come through unscathed.

Well, please welcome me ('you' - Scotland) if things get bad here. I have ancestry back to Scotland and have always wanted to visit. My grandmother (RIP) even taught Scottish dance in San Francisco. I'd love to share a photo of her as a young girl in full Scots regalia. I'll look for it.
