Hegseth advised Trump to pardon soldiers convicted of war crimes in Iraq. He has little knowledge of, zero experience in, operational, strategic, or geopolitical national defense concerns. He does not have the skill set nor the experience to lead the largest (most lethal) dept in our govt.
Trump's hatred of federal workers is part of antagonism for scientists, academics, artists, and journalists, most filled by people who have spent years becoming experts at their job. His appointments are a celebration of the slacker and the intellectually incurious.
I have to wonder if donOld didn't pick him after he suggested a trump military parade. He probably said "we'll do helicopters and rockets and even have them throw a few grenades!"
