Do you think stricter regulations or a more accountable system would help prevent these kinds of issues in the future? Or is it more about changing the culture around security at the highest levels of government?
Any normal administration would have been following the established procedures for secure communications, to the point that most cabinet members have a special setup installed in their homes for that purpose. They know better and they don’t care.
The fact that some officials seem to have ignored or sidestepped these rules raises serious concerns about accountability. If those entrusted with leadership can’t be bothered to follow basic security guidelines, it creates a dangerous precedent.
