Yes! A new book doesn't have to be newly published, it just has to be new to you. Also Wilkie Collins is very readable, I enjoyed "The Moonstone" quite a bit.

The military’s recruiting has been down for years. As they weed out women, black men, naturalized citizens, LGBT, and indigenous (because they keep confusing them with “illegal” Mexicans), our military will be 10 white dudes in a trench coat.
