Finally someone who can answer a question for me. Why isn't genetic testing done 1st in complex conditions instead of as a last resort? Insurance? FDA? Physician preference? Or perhaps genetic testing isn't Holy grail I think it is?

Genetic testing has become more common in psychiatry, but rarely gives us “the answer”. Testing says don’t use “medicine Z” but that ends up working best. It is a technology in its infancy, at least for mental health.

True, and I suppose each case has to weigh risk vs benefit. I was considering physical, biological solutions to the vaccine concerns. I do believe folks who report harms post vaccination - I know, studies have looked at the ASD questions without finding correlation-would testing help?

There is no testing that I am aware of that would ID people at risk of those rare medical events that can happen with vaccines. For most people, vaccines are nothing but positive. I feel crappy after I get the flu shot or the COVID shot, but when I've gotten flu/COVID symptoms are relatively mild

I'm a highly trained microbiologist. I've worked in the field for 40 years. IMO decreasing/controlling microbial resistance comes down to educating physicians and pharmacy. Ive seen over use of antibiotics everyday of my working life

I made the investment in books about natural prescriptive supplements & vitamins years ago. That's how I know about the garlic. The berries are always good. Probiotic/Prebiotics also good. Medicare has not done one thing for us so we opted out & only have the provided.

No, I mean introduce the plants. Blackberries are some of the gnarliest plants we have & grow almost anywhere. Augment their dietary culture. Garlic is a natural antibiotic. The only way you could send the harvested fruits would be prepared supplements or canned/preserved.

The #CDC published July 2024 the Critical threat updates. The World Health Organization @who.int reports that by 2050 10 million will die annually from drug resistant bacteria.

Research and investment is critical. It will make COVID look minimal in relation to mortality.

For those of you suggesting the use of garlic and rosemary, infection control in humanitarian setting is a huge challange, like in the hospitals of Gaza etc, where hundreds of severely injured, burned patients are being treated in corridors, on floors, with very limited resources.
