after having witnessed the birth of the internet and existing online for 3 decades I can confidently say no feedback is more validating than tumblr reblog tags

something about it being tags lets people feel free to express their unfiltered and often weird goofy delight over what they're reblogging and it is a beautiful thing
Aye, being on Tumblr before the NSFW art ban was really quite something. Only had something like that happen once, but it still feels so damn precious. Bless the energy that some sites can have towards fun/amazing things out there <3
Tumblr tags are always so much fun to look through because it’s like I’m staring at people’s inner deep thoughts that simply can’t be expressed with a mere comment lol
I really liked the Elfwood / deviantART era most... so many people interacting candidly and marvelling at each other! Some comments stuck deep in my heart for years
It’s a toss-up for me between the dubs vs. fansubs one and “5 HUMILIATING mistakes in Zootopia!!” And I think about “wait did I save” every time I lock my car again after 5 seconds.
(also hi Hubert! it’s my policy to shout out fellow FE PFPs in the wild 🤭)
The psychology of it is fascinating… it’s like, a pinch of the principle of anonymity removing inhibitions, but not to the extent that people become evil. Just feral sometimes!
I have never used Tumblr much, and I mostly just post drawings there now, but any time someone does reblog I zoom over to see if they wrote a personalized funny lil' tag.

I like how the site has aged honestly.
I'm glad it's mellowed over the years, but it's still just a little unhinged.
