the current Miriam Webster (online and off) conceals or dismisses a stemming from Islamic folk lore and mythology - genius is defined as demon in that old dictionary - not 🧞 genie - and not Islamic, it was a medieval definition used in Northern Europe.

You “might” be able to find an unedited dictionary in the archives of the library of congress 🧵
