I've been using this mouse for 10+ years and when I needed to replace my first one (it still worked, it was just getting worn out) I learned that there are two "generations" of it, the earlier of which is the better one. Found some guy on ebay selling an unopened 1st gen one, snapped that baby up
A lot!
Tho not the software thats needed for most of the extra buttons to function on default.
But what I did was set the extra buttons to function keys in the hidden F13-24 range and save that to the onboard profile memory.
So as long as the game supports those keys all buttons work like a charm.
I've had that same mouse for about 5 years now, it's pretty fantastic. Does yours have a braided cord? The pic on the box doesn't look like it but my mouse does, that was one of the reasons I wanted it.
