Welcome! You definitely made the right choice I deleted X and never looked back. Also announcing so your followers know you are here is kinda important so ya that is a good thing.
It's absolutely insane how toxic 'X' became in the past two weeks. Like it was bad for a bit, but my god the amount of hate that gets spewed their is insane
Not to be argumentative, but for me personally for the last two years it has been extremely negative there. All I want is tech and video game news and instead I would get mostly politics despite trying to train the algo to ignore that stuff.
Just don't delete your account, set it to private and leave it there to exist. Otherwise after 30 days anyone can just take that handle and pretend to be you. (Or at least that's what I've read).
I’m sorry but I had to argue with the guy. 1 I love a good argument and im petty. 2 getting upset that another grown man decided to leave a social media platform for another is insane. This dude is probably still upset that everyone left MySpace for Facebook.
I've been loving Twitter a few years back. I could follow artists and see their wonderful work, but now with all the drama and ai stealing art and politics it's been draining and sad. There's no shame in seeing this and doing what's best for you
+ it's relevant to let people know you're leaving imo
Well moments after I replied debating on if I should try this app or not well I decided to give it a go. It’s definitely user friendly and I’m liking the layout
To be fair: "Follow me over on Bluesky. I won't be posting here much anymore." is more than enough. "I deleted this app" etc. is making a bit of fuss/statement on things.
So you’re saying he should lie? Because “not posting much anymore” implies that he’ll still access his account. By saying he’ll delete it he’s staying that he won’t read posts, reply to tags, questions etc. And what’s wrong with making a statement?
"won't be using it much anymore" in the tweet in the screenshot. Followup saying he'll be using these sites a lot less and only at his desktop for work purposes. Admittedly, I said 'posting' when he only said using. His post was mild, but the more noise an exit makes, the more in response.

For the people that want to follow them elsewhere if possible? Do you want people to go "Where'd they go?"
(Also of course much of this is from bluechecks paying for Twitter.)
