Didn't need to add bombs to a passenger plane to turn them into effective weapons.

Fiber tapping is possible, but it wouldn't make sense to damage cable one would want to monitor. 😅 But submarine cable companies have potential methods & technologies for noticing it.

Interesting. This means that any and all equipment remaining on the ship is now in hands of Finnish police and being analysed as evidence. Plus we Finns are rather good in finding anything in Baltic sea bottom.

Yes, I understand. But any and all remaining. If the ship was sent on a sabotage mission there was likely at least comms equipment for that. Soonish, the Finnish police may suggest what they have.

Michelle, nothing unusual here. Russians were using tankers and other cargo vessels for intelligence operations for decades, since the Soviet Union. NATO intelligence services always knew this. It's just that no one has figured out how to deal with it even during the Cold War.
