I’m more open minded on the backstop question. Probably 50-50. But I think equal attention needs to go to ensuring Trump doesn’t agree to dreadful, draconian, unacceptable “Istanbul” terms that would cap size of Ukraine’s forces & limit capabilities. Any Euro assurance force needs strong Ukr forces.
