👍You mention his philanthropy. I work in philanthropy. I recall some older colleagues meeting his team, & returning saying that he wanted to set up his own foundation so they'd have... "that freedom". They were too old to know. Those of us in my gen (ie, who grew up with his music) all laughed 😜

I didn't realise his genius until he had gone. Certainly in the 90s I read more about the cottaging and drugs than about the arresting beauty of Jesus to a Child, and the tragedy behind it. I often talk to my kids about his quiet philanthropy vs Mr Beast's in-your-face content creation version.
