Our ancestors screwed up a lot of things but they really went off with domesticating cats because now I have a little guy who snuggles me in the morning

Thank you! It's the Fractal Design North, in case you were curious. It kinda kickstarted a trend of a lot of cases coming out using wood accents, which is something I WHOLE-HEARTEDLY welcome.
And yeah, Jasper's a little dickhead but I love him.
I have not had a cpu tower in a long time. iMac for me, Dell Inspiron all-in-one for spouse. Now everyone is going for full service laptops. But you game, you must need googobs of video processing power.
PS don’t believe my profile picture it’s decades old.
The funny thing is I did build this PC to be able to play AAA games in 1440p, in anticipation of Dragon's Dogma 2. It's the first one I built myself.
But I ended up not liking that game, and most of what I play now doesn't come close to needing this power.
The cats came out of the desert in
Mesopotamia when people began
grain storage.
The rodents discovered these
storages, and swarmed the grain.
Then the cats came and saved the
situation. Imagine what it would
feel like to see giant swarms of
rodents stealing your food and
then cats chasing them away
Cats were never domesticated, they just chose to live with us. Seriously, they’re just like the feral cats they’re related too. Domestication causes hormonal changes that alter animals in fundamental ways. Compare dogs to wolves.
We started growing grain, rats gathered, cats gathered, then some idiot gave a cat a piece of meat at the campfire, and it was all over. We domesticated animals because they could be useful, cats decided it would be convenient to live with us.
Sometimes I think about the thousands of years of effort it took to produce my dog, a 55 lb ball of neuroses with the jaws of a crocodile who firmly believed he’s a human baby.
Modern housecats are one of the first animals to domesticate themselves. They are also thought to have been domesticated twice, much like pigs. The jury is out on which domestication happened first: humans choosing to selectively breed the friendliest cats or cats choosing the bestest humans.

Good one.

Cats domesticated us. Look at how much human civilization has changed to serve our feline overlords since they first took us into their paws.
