This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement.

David, I’m curious to know your thoughts on the situation w/ military on base censorship. If a family in base housing wants to have a sign in window honoring Black History. Or an elementary student showing up in class w/ a Harriet Tubman button. Or rights of a non-military spouse to promote equity.

My personal opinion is that all of those ought to be allowed in general, and even if officially restricted that personal expressions like that should be allowed (should in the sense of 'the right thing to do')

The very unit -- the 101st Airborne -- based in the fort where this school is located is the one deployed to Little Rock to desegregate the schools there, to add to the evil irony.
