I like stuff from big corporations but I never worship them and I always try to seek out indie stuff to be obsessed with. I know the higher ups are never on your side. The individual creators within those maybe but not the ones at the head.

This is a big chunk of it, and another reason is that they’re afraid of him lashing out and using the government to target them. They don’t know what he wants, but the ‘smart business decision’ is to stay out of his way.

I’m glad they’re at least keeping it, even if the language is more ambiguous (“may contain” vs “includes”), but these corporations trying to thread the needle this way instead of sticking to their values sure don’t look great.

For most corporations, their "values" are making money and avoiding legal trouble. There are exceptions who really mean it, e.g. Target eliminated all their DEI, but Costco said hell no, this is what works and we're sticking with it.

I’m far more bothered by them cutting the trans storyline in the new Pixar TV show. I never expect Disney to be anything other than small-c conservative, but it was so late in production to cut. That concession stung.
