Thing 1 couldn't care less, but will wag his tail when we make eye contact. Thing 2 howls like a hellbeast if I go to the grocery store and becomes stickier than Velcro for two days. 🤣

One of mine makes the "human missing" sign out of a small pile of random things in the middle of the room. E.g. Gloves, shoes, bits of kindling, a bowl and some tissues. It's a bit disturbing to be honest.
Had a lovely Keeshond years ago. Great dog but after he started demonstrating severe separation anxiety, I read that this breed is known for this trait.
Twelve years ago I rescued two minpins (littermates), Teddy and Tori. Teddy has always been a Velcro dog but this summer Tori passed away suddenly and he has taken his separation anxiety to the next level. He whimpers outside the bathroom door when I take a shower. It’s heartbreaking 💔
I was with my daughter in a shopping mall yesterday afternoon, and I saw a lady pushing her child who it looked just to be a little bit over one year of age in his stroller and the child just could not stop looking for his own mother over and over and over again
When I went to the sidewalk to get the mail from the box, I'd have to let my dog, Judy, out the front door when I returned, because she was so excited to see me again that she'd lose control of her bladder.
There called '' Man's best friend for a reason'' You think my cat would ever do that for me? I'm just her slave who waits patiently for her next command.
No Facebook, imagine your friend was totally distressed after you left him ,that the case ,ways to get round this, first day leave your pooch for 1 minute ,and come back, second ,2 mins and so on,they will get used to it but NEVER leave them for a long period ,it will kill them inside ,1 min one day
I don't know if it is quite as serious as you say, but I do take him everywhere-doctor's office, dentist, grocery store, etc., and when I do leave him, say to run to the store, he is so happy to see me., and does seem a little sad when I first get back to him...
Yes, he was! My parking space is literally right in front of that door, and he was sitting there being dramatic when I pulled up.
Of course, I felt bad and guilty, and drowned him in treats, for the rest of the day...😂
The more animals I've adopted and rescued the more I realize humans have a great deal to learn from them. We are talking at least 45 cats and 3 dogs in 20 years. I presently have 11 cats.
Not really. Pack animals (dogs) want the pack to stay together and have instincts to ensure that is so. Herd animals (horses for example) do something similar. Humans develop families for the same reasons. It’s not about being needy. It’s a survival thing that has worked for ages.
Me: *stands up*
My dog: “Where we going?”
Me: “I’m just going to the bathroom?”
My dog: “I go?”
Me: “I’m just going to the bathroom. You don’t need to come with me.”
My dog: “I go anyway.”
Then you haven't bonded with your cat yet. Once you do, they end up closer than dogs. We have three cats now, and it can take 10 years for some to fully bond.
What seemed to work best (all ours are ex semi-feral), is greeting them every time you walk in to where they are (kiss on the head, quick pet). The consistency is important.
This guy (Neeko) suddenly bonded after 6 years. The change in behavior and trust was dramatic. The 2nd (Terri), took 8 years.
Maybe this is why the Biden's dog was also biting Secret Service agents. Afterall, VP Donald threw the Hatch Act out the window and politicized the agency while bankrupting them during his first term. Perhaps, 'Commander' was going after those agents loyal to Putin/Musk/Trump 🤔😂 #gooddog
My Ziggy puts up a lost poster on me if I happen to shut the door to the bathroom!
He’s the definition of a Velcro dog…which makes him totally reliable off-leash!
Thanks! He’s a rescue we got at 11 mos & came w/big issues from a very bad 1st 9 mos - but we’ve worked hard & he’s come a long way in 4+ years & if he warms to you, he’s the cutest, silliest, sweetest boy around. Also super obedient & smart.
His big sister Frannie who we just lost was my ❤️ tho.
😆 I’ve had some great ones.
I only had big dogs growing up, but I’m on my sixth Yorkie now, he’s the only one left.

Isn’t it funny how a pup will behave this way, not understanding the difference between five minutes and five hours, yet they sure know what time it is when you’re five minutes late for their morning walk 😏
My sweet little boy would howl like a wolf everytime I left the house. It’s really quiet these days. He crossed the rainbow bridge on the 20th. I miss my Spudley very much. 💔💔
In beginning, God made mankind to walk in garden with Him. To obey Him. To love Him above all others.
Many millennia ago, man, through generation by generation of selection, made dog to walk in garden with him. To obey him. To love him above all others.
Yep! If I go into the garage for a minute, Lucy loses her mind. I walk back into house and get mobbed by a doodle who’s sure it’s the first time we’ve met. 🐶
Same here. When I travel, my wife tells me that our dog gets depressed for 24 hours. She does not even look at her.
Animals build their routines around ours.
My poor 15 year old dog, blind and mostly deaf, can 'feel' when he's alone in a room, so he barks and barks...even when I'm right around the corner. He's doing it now because my daughter went to the bathroom and he's alone in her room.
This is the absolute truth. Whether I’m out of their sight for 5 minutes or away for days, the homecoming reception is always the same. I definitely know I’m loved. 🐾🫶🐾
If i am gone from sight for more than a minute she is concerned 🤣 When we are in my apartment i dont need to close doors since i live alone. At my parents house? She sits outside the bathroom and hates that i shut her out😅
She truly is! Currently at the office and she is in my lap🤣 She is a rescue though so i get her concerns. Luckily she is also VERY well behaved so she can come with me most places hehe.
omg that's so precious I can't! vibing hard with that as my Jackson has a papa who works from home—so he gets me all day, which ends up being problematic when human kid wants my attention later 😂
I’ve never had a human friend nor love whom I’ve trusted as much nor quickly as I trust a pup’s heart & instincts. My apologies but right now, Truth Matters to my heart even more than ever before. I adore your Post! Thank you. Please stay safe & strong in the storm beginning the day after, yea 2025.
I had a stroke last February and was on the floor for three days until my neighbor found me. My GSD must have go nuts during that time. No he won’t let me out of his sight and if I do any work close to the floor he comes over to lick my face and make sure that I’m alright.
Yes #dogs are so smart. I had a dog growing up, so smart. He literally waited with me for the school bus & actually was sitting waiting when dropped off. He was my #parents I guess 😂🤣
The best quality a dog possesses is that, for them, every day is a new day. Dave Barry, the comedy or wonderfully-ironic writer, described it best when he let his dog out of the house to the yard every morning. It was ecstasy, sniffing the grass, chasing the same squirrel - so funny but true!

It’s an instinct
...
Oh, you are back? Litter needs cleaning.
😂😂😂😂
More accurate would be dog barking (howling?) nonstop for 5 minutes.
I only went to the store, 5 minutes away.
My caregiver took the video...😂

"I'll be right back"

If you’re not into the whole brevity thing.
Very surprised!

Many millennia ago, man, through generation by generation of selection, made dog to walk in garden with him. To obey him. To love him above all others.
Dog has pretty good track record.
I closed it a few minutes ago. The dogs were inside relaxing, I was outside.
The moment the door closed they NEEDED to be outside with me.
