A good reason for people like me living near the US border with easy access to US Costco to shop at the Canadian Costo is that only the Canadian Costco does french fries.

Yes and they carry a lot of local Canadian products. Local milk, eggs, dairy, etc. if it says Made in USA put it back on the shelf.
