New Active Travel trains have been introduced in Wales with up to 10 spaces for bikes!

Could we see this on future @beenetwork.bsky.social trains?

I was once refused onto a train I had a booked bike space on because people had put their luggage into the space and the conductor was a dick.

The following train had "been warned" about me, but when i explained my side of things they were more than helpful.

And this was in rural Norfolk!

For the Northern trains I think it depends on the conductor, some are strict about the 2-bikes thing (especially if they are mountain bikes), others seem to let more on until it's *really* full.

I saw a train from liverpool to manchester allow five guys on with their bikes because the train was quiet, they were only going a few stops, and were able to stand with them in the wide doorways to move if needed.
Far better way of doing things.

I've been turned away as well. I think one of the issues is that there is officially a set number of bike spaces whereas we know cyclists are very good at packing bikes densely in the right order for getting off. The Welsh train appears to perpetuate that set spaces idea but I yet to see one.
