I've thought the same thing. Now, right NOW, of all times, people are having to buy the news. Sure some of us will. But many others can't afford that and therefore risk being uninformed and misinformed.

The first to drop a paywall and positions links to its other articles non-intrusively, to piss off the fewest readers, throws the largest net and gains the most attention. Do it right and you get a bump in subscriptions.
So, who goes first?
If only they acted this way eh?

Absolutely, EVERYONE wants us all to subscribe and pay them. The NYT is everywhere and makes you answer a long survey if you want to read what Larry David wrote, even after answering that stupid survey, there was no article available.
