Those Pinterest visual storage inspirations look good the first day you do them and never again. I would blame this on young children but truthfully I inevitably fail them as well.
Clear and open containers was always my compromise with having too much not-currently-in-play stuff but also lacking an organizational system that doesn't allow things to accumulate merely because they're unseen
The trouble with pinterest inspo is it that communicates the aesthetic value of the organization (and is algo boosted on that dimension) and not like (a) does it help me remember what I have (b) does it help me access what I have (c) can I get more stuff without it breaking down, etc.
I think what I tend to be looking for from those for inspiration, though, is "accepting this will be be inherently noisy, how do I make the noise palatable?" and that's where the aesthetic inspiration is helpful. I don't need help with organization systems, but I need help with aesthetics.
